The Bleu du Maine is a French breed. It shares some of the same genetics with the BFL, through their ancestors the Leicester Longwool, and the Wensleydale. It is likely that the Wensleydale, Bluefaced Leicester and the Bleu du Maine share the same base of color genetic factors for “blue skin/white wool.”
