Three of our annual flock books are now available on the website… no password necessary! All three are PDF files that you can download to your computer or print out and insert into your own binder.
2008 and 2009 are our old “book style” formats, which some members already have. Since we have so much of the information available on the website, we opted to “strip down” the format for the 2010 and 2011 editions. These will contain only Corrections, The Registry and some statistics for that year.
2010 is available right now, with 2011 to be posted this weekend.
A Note on “BS” Sheep (“Black Solid” color designation) in the Registry
In the 2010 flock book, I have highlighted (in yellow) several natural colored lambs that were registered as “BS” (black solid). This is the data that has come directly from ASR, which I have left deliberately in the new flock book.
For accurate record keeping, I encourage all breeders to double-check all your natural colored lambs (and sheep), and please double-check your printed pedigrees against any errors in color designations made when registering sheep!
All of the “BS” sheep til present have been registration errors, as we’ve not had any true Black Solid BFLs yet… all of them to date have been “BP” or Black Pattern sheep.
Most, if not all breeders have gone back and contacted ASR to make the appropriate corrections to their pedigrees (and to ASR’s database).
Please contact me to let me know if you have corrected/changed any of the color designations on the sheep in question… I can then update them in the original flock book file, and re-post the book to the website.
Thank you for all your patience… it can be a tedious job to keep on it!
